Intelligence Brief
FlySpark ZD1PLUS Single-Channel Drone Payload Dropper is a compact, servo-latched release unit for Ø60 mm-class cylindrical payloads on FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors. The curved cradle conforms to the payload, a hook-and-loop strap holds it firmly in flight, and one PWM servo signal opens the latch on command. The complete unit measures 79 × 65 × 50 mm and weighs approximately 65 g including the strap, so it adds very little to the aircraft’s all-up weight.

The ZD1PLUS is part of the FlySpark UAV Payload Droppers & Release Systems range, supplied and supported in India by AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. for defence and government users, public-safety agencies and professional integrators, with export enquiries welcome.
Two versions are available. The ZD1PLUS-PWM-V1 straps or zip-ties directly to the airframe, while the ZD1PLUS-SQ-V1 adds a quick-release interface so the dropper can be clipped on and off a matching aircraft-side mount between sorties. Both run on 5 V and use a standard PWM servo signal from the flight controller or a receiver channel.

The overall envelope is 79 × 65 × 50 mm including the servo and latch. The concave cradle locates a Ø60 mm-class cylindrical payload along its length so it cannot roll or shift sideways in flight, and the strap pulls it down into the curve. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload.

The ZD1PLUS is the lightest FlySpark dropper sized for Ø60 mm-class cylindrical payloads. At approximately 65 g it leaves more of a small drone’s lift margin for the payload itself, and because it needs only one PWM output and a 5 V rail it fits almost any FPV-class or custom-built airframe without extra electronics. The curved cradle and strap give a secure, centred hold, and the quick-release SQ version lets crews swap droppers between aircraft in seconds.

The payload is laid in the curved cradle and the hook-and-loop strap is passed over it, with its end captured by the latch on the front block. A two-position switch on the pilot’s transmitter is assigned to one AUX channel, which the flight controller or receiver outputs as a PWM servo signal. In the lock position the micro servo keeps the latch closed; switching to release rotates the servo, the latch opens, the strap end frees and the payload drops cleanly from the cradle. The dropper is then reloaded on the ground for the next sortie.

The ZD1PLUS is intended for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors with a spare PWM servo output, typically 7–10 inch quadcopters and similar airframes. Mount it under the aircraft’s centre of gravity, clear of the propellers and camera view. The PWM-V1 version is fixed with straps or zip-ties; the SQ-V1 version clicks onto an aircraft-side quick-release mount that is sold separately. For DJI Mavic and Air-series camera drones without a PWM output, choose the light-sensor triggered ZD1-V3 instead.

For defence training units, government security agencies and public-safety teams, the ZD1PLUS gives a light, single-payload release capability on small FPV-class and custom multirotors for training, marking, resupply and sensor tasks.
For rescue services, utilities, agriculture and research, the ZD1PLUS turns a small multirotor into a precise single-item delivery tool for places that are slow or unsafe to reach on foot.

The ZD1PLUS is the compact single-channel choice for Ø60 mm-class cylindrical payloads on PWM-equipped drones. Choose a light-sensor model for camera drones, a dual-channel model for two payloads per sortie, or the 60WD series for heavier mechanical-latch builds on larger FPV-class aircraft.

IMPORTANT USE NOTE: The ZD1PLUS is supplied only to verified end users. The buyer is responsible for ensuring that every payload is lawful, for obtaining airspace and drone-operation permissions, and for complying with export-control and end-use rules. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload. Never fly over people, always test the release with propellers removed, and keep the all-up weight within the aircraft’s safe thrust margin.
Q: What is a drone payload dropper? A: A drone payload dropper is a small release mechanism fitted under a drone that holds a payload in flight and lets it go on command from the pilot’s transmitter. It is used to deliver rescue items, markers, sensors and training payloads without landing.
Q: What is the FlySpark ZD1PLUS? A: The FlySpark ZD1PLUS is a compact single-channel drone payload dropper with a curved cradle for Ø60 mm-class cylindrical payloads. It measures 79 × 65 × 50 mm, weighs approximately 65 g including the strap, runs on 5 V and is triggered by a standard PWM servo signal.
Q: What payloads does the ZD1PLUS carry? A: The cradle is shaped for Ø60 mm-class cylindrical payloads such as inert training cylinders, rolled rescue pouches, marker canisters and sensor housings. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload.
Q: How does the ZD1PLUS release its payload? A: The payload sits in the curved cradle and is held by a hook-and-loop strap whose end is captured by a servo-driven latch. When the assigned transmitter switch is flipped, the micro servo opens the latch, the strap frees and the payload falls clear of the cradle.
Q: Which drones is the ZD1PLUS compatible with? A: It is designed for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors that provide a PWM servo output, typically 7–10 inch quadcopters and similar airframes with enough thrust margin for the dropper plus payload.
Q: Does the ZD1PLUS work on DJI Mavic or Air drones? A: The ZD1PLUS is a PWM-triggered unit and has no light-sensor version. For DJI Mavic and Air-series camera drones, choose the FlySpark ZD1-V3 LED light-sensor dropper, which triggers from the drone’s bottom auxiliary light without wiring.
Q: What is the difference between ZD1PLUS-PWM-V1 and ZD1PLUS-SQ-V1? A: Both use the same cradle, latch and 5 V PWM servo. The PWM-V1 version is fixed to the airframe with straps or zip-ties, while the SQ-V1 version has a quick-release interface so it can be clipped on and off a matching aircraft-side quick-release mount.
Q: Is the aircraft-side quick-release mount included with the SQ version? A: No. The aircraft-side quick-release mount is sold separately, for example the FlySpark XTS-D-V1 small quick-release mount rated for devices up to 1 kg. FlySpark confirms the matching mount when you order.
Q: How do I set up the release switch? A: Assign a two-position switch on the transmitter to one AUX channel, map it to a servo output on the flight controller or a PWM receiver channel, then set the lock and release end-points on the ground with propellers removed.
Q: Can I use the ZD1PLUS with an ELRS or Crossfire receiver? A: Yes, as long as the servo receives a PWM signal. Use a flight controller servo output, or add the FlySpark ELRS-to-PWM output module, which converts the receiver signal to PWM and provides a 5 V supply for the servo.
Q: What is the lead time and do you export? A: Lead time is confirmed with the quotation. FlySpark supplies across India and handles export enquiries subject to end-user verification and applicable export-control rules.
Q: Can the ZD1PLUS be used for weapons? A: No. FlySpark supplies the ZD1PLUS for lawful payload release such as rescue, marking, training and sensor emplacement, and only to verified end users. Integration of any other payload is the end user’s responsibility in accordance with national law, procurement rules and export controls.
Q: Who uses drone payload droppers? A: Defence training units, government security agencies, police and public-safety teams, search-and-rescue services, utility contractors stringing pilot lines, agricultural operators, researchers and professional drone integrators.
Q: Does FlySpark provide integration support? A: Yes. FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. advises on aircraft selection, mounting position, servo-output configuration, payload fit and operator familiarisation.
Q: What warranty is included? A: Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year under approved use and normal operating conditions. Crash damage, overload, water ingress or unauthorised modification may not be covered.
