Intelligence Brief
The FlySpark XD2-V2 is a pin-release dual-channel drone dropper: a compact payload release system that retains each of two payloads with its own removable retention pin, and withdraws that pin by servo to release the payload on command. The two channels are independently controllable, the body measures 130 × 42 × 46 mm, weight is approx. 110–125 g depending on variant, and the unit runs on 5 V.

The XD2-V2 is part of the FlySpark UAV Payload Droppers & Release Systems range, supplied and supported in India by AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd., with export enquiries handled subject to end-user verification and export controls.
Three versions share the same body. The XD2-LED-V2 fits the DJI Mavic 3 and triggers from the drone’s bottom auxiliary light through an optical sensor, so nothing is wired into the aircraft. The XD2-PWM-V2 takes a standard servo-type PWM signal from the flight controller or receiver of FPV-class and custom-built drones, and the XD2-SQ-V2 is the quick-release mount version of the PWM dropper.

Pin retention is positive: the pin passes through the payload’s loop or lug, so the item cannot work loose from vibration or manoeuvring, and release depends only on the servo withdrawing the pin. With two independent channels, one sortie can deliver two items to two different points, or both together. At 130 × 42 × 46 mm and approx. 110–125 g the XD2-V2 is light enough for camera drones such as the DJI Mavic 3 as well as FPV-class and custom-built multirotors.

Each payload is seated in its bracket and locked by a removable retention pin. In flight the pin carries the load. When the release command arrives, the servo withdraws the pin of the selected channel only, and that payload drops free while the other channel stays locked.

On the XD2-LED-V2 the command is the Mavic 3’s bottom auxiliary light, switched from the pilot app or controller and read by the optical sensor. On the XD2-PWM-V2 and XD2-SQ-V2 the command is a PWM signal from a spare flight-controller or receiver output assigned to a transmitter switch; channel mapping is set and tested at commissioning.

The XD2-LED-V2 is strapped under the body of a DJI Mavic 3 with the optical sensor over the bottom auxiliary light. The XD2-PWM-V2 is fixed to the underside of an FPV-class or custom-built PWM-signal drone, and the XD2-SQ-V2 uses a quick-release mount so the dropper can be fitted or removed quickly between sorties; aircraft-side quick-release parts are quoted separately. Always keep total take-off weight within the aircraft maker’s limits and check balance before flight.

For armed forces, government security agencies and public-safety units, the XD2-V2 provides a light, two-channel release for approved support, signalling and training payloads from small drones. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload.

For rescue teams, utilities, agriculture and research, the XD2-V2 turns a small drone into a precise two-drop delivery platform.

The XD2-V2 is the compact two-channel pin-release choice. Pick a curved-cradle model for smooth cylindrical payloads, or a multi-channel model when a larger multirotor needs to carry more items.
IMPORTANT USE NOTE The XD2-V2 is supplied only to verified end users. The buyer is responsible for using lawful payloads, obtaining airspace permissions and complying with export controls and local regulations. Never fly over people, test every release on the ground with propellers removed, and keep total take-off weight within the aircraft maker’s limits.
Q: What is a pin-release drone dropper? A: A pin-release drone dropper holds each payload with a removable retention pin passed through a bracket and the payload’s loop or lug. When the release command arrives, a servo withdraws the pin and that payload falls free. It is a simple, positive retention method with no hooks or claws to snag.
Q: What is the FlySpark XD2-V2? A: The FlySpark XD2-V2 is a compact pin-release dual-channel drone payload dropper. It carries two payloads, each on its own retention pin, and the two channels can be controlled independently. The body measures 130 × 42 × 46 mm, weighs approx. 110–125 g depending on variant and runs on 5 V.
Q: What does “dual-channel” mean on the XD2-V2? A: There are two separate pin-retention channels. You can release channel 1 only, channel 2 only, or both, so two items can be delivered to two different points in one sortie.
Q: Which variants are available? A: Three: XD2-LED-V2 with a light-sensor trigger for the DJI Mavic 3, XD2-PWM-V2 for PWM-signal aircraft such as FPV-class and custom-built drones, and XD2-SQ-V2, the quick-release mount version for PWM-signal aircraft.
Q: How does the LED (light-sensor) version trigger without wiring? A: An optical sensor is taped over the drone’s bottom auxiliary light. Switching that light from the pilot app or controller triggers the dropper, so nothing is wired into the aircraft and the drone is not modified.
Q: How is the PWM version connected? A: The PWM version takes a standard servo-type PWM signal from a spare flight-controller or receiver output and is assigned to a transmitter switch. Channel mapping is set and tested during commissioning.
Q: What is the SQ version? A: The SQ version is the quick-release mount build of the PWM dropper. It lets the operator fit or remove the dropper quickly between sorties or move it between airframes. Aircraft-side quick-release parts are quoted separately.
Q: Which drones is the XD2-V2 compatible with? A: The XD2-LED-V2 is specified for the DJI Mavic 3. The XD2-PWM-V2 and XD2-SQ-V2 suit PWM-signal aircraft, typically FPV-class drones and custom-built camera drones. Confirm the airframe with FlySpark before ordering.
Q: What can the XD2-V2 carry? A: Compact payloads with a loop or lug that seats in the pin bracket, such as rescue pouches, flotation aids, marker or smoke canisters, sensors, beacons and inert training items. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload, and total take-off weight must stay within the aircraft maker’s limits.
Q: Why choose pin release over a cradle or latch dropper? A: A pin passes through the payload attachment point, so the item cannot work loose from vibration, and release depends only on withdrawing the pin. It suits payloads that have a ring, loop or lug rather than a smooth cylindrical body.
Q: What is the lead time, and do you export? A: Lead time is confirmed with the quotation. FlySpark supplies across India and handles export enquiries subject to end-user verification, applicable export controls and documentation.
Q: Can the XD2-V2 be used to deliver weapons? A: No. FlySpark supplies the XD2-V2 as a payload-release device for lawful, approved payloads to verified end users only. The buyer is responsible for lawful payloads, airspace permissions and export-control compliance.
Q: Is the XD2-V2 used by defence and security forces? A: It suits protective, training and support roles in defence and security such as marker and screening smoke, signalling, inert training drops, sensor and beacon emplacement, emergency resupply and EOD or CBRN team training, subject to national law and procurement rules.
Q: How does the XD2-V2 compare with other FlySpark droppers? A: The XD2-V2 is the compact two-channel pin-release option. The XD4-V2 is the longer pin-release model, the ZD1-V3 and ZD2-V3 use curved cradles for one or two payloads, and the ZD4, ZD6 and ZD8 add more channels for larger multirotors.
Q: What warranty is included? A: Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year under approved use and normal operating conditions. Crash damage, overload, wrong voltage or unauthorised modification may not be covered.
