Intelligence Brief
FlySpark ZD6 6-Channel Drone Payload Dropper is a multi-channel drone drop system that carries six payloads under an FPV-class or custom-built multirotor and releases each one independently on command. Six release stations sit in a compact 230 × 94 × 48 mm body weighing approx. 300 g, controlled over CRSF (Crossfire / ELRS serial) and powered directly from a 7–28 V aircraft supply.

The ZD6 is part of the FlySpark UAV Payload Droppers & Release Systems range, supplied and supported in India by AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. for defence, government security, public-safety and professional integrator users, with export enquiries welcome subject to end-user verification.
Each station uses a curved cradle that conforms to the payload, lined with hook-and-loop pads and held by retaining straps, with its own servo-driven latch. Because every channel is independent, one aircraft can make six separate deliveries in one sortie – for example a radio, a first-aid kit and a flotation aid to three different points – without returning to reload. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload.

The ZD6 sits between the 4-channel ZD4 and the 8-channel ZD8 in the FlySpark ZD dropper range. It gives six independent drops in a long, narrow 94 mm-wide body that tucks under the frame of a 7–10 inch class multirotor, and its 7–28 V input removes the need for a separate 5 V regulator on most 2S–6S builds. CRSF control means the dropper rides on the same Crossfire or ExpressLRS link the pilot already flies with, so no extra radio is needed.

The pilot’s Crossfire or ELRS transmitter sends channel data to the CRSF receiver on the aircraft. The ZD6 controller reads that CRSF stream, and each of six transmitter switches or buttons is mapped to one release station, CH1 to CH6. When a switch is operated, only that station’s servo opens its latch and the payload falls clear; the other five stay locked. Power comes from the aircraft supply anywhere between 7 and 28 V.

The ZD6 is intended for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors that carry a CRSF receiver. Mount it under the airframe, centred under the centre of gravity and clear of propellers, landing gear and the camera’s field of view. The ZD6-CRSF is strapped or fixed to the frame; the ZD6-SQ uses a quick-release (SQ) mount so one dropper can be moved between aircraft quickly. Check the aircraft’s spare lift, flight time and handling with the dropper and full payload fitted before operational use.

For armed forces, paramilitary and government security units, the ZD6 lets a single small multirotor make six controlled, separate drops of signalling, resupply, sensor and training payloads in one sortie, keeping personnel out of difficult or exposed terrain.

For rescue services, utilities, agriculture and research teams, the ZD6 turns a capable multirotor into a six-drop delivery tool for small, light items where landing is slow, unsafe or impossible.

FlySpark offers drone payload droppers from single-channel units for folding camera drones up to 8-channel CRSF systems for FPV-class and custom builds. Choose the ZD6 when you need six independent drops on a 7–28 V CRSF aircraft without stepping up to the wider ZD8.

The ZD6 is supplied only to verified end users. The buyer is responsible for using only lawful payloads, obtaining all airspace permissions and complying with applicable export controls. Never fly over people, always bench-test the release with the dropper empty and the propellers removed, and respect the aircraft’s maximum take-off weight.
Q: What is a drone payload dropper? A: A drone payload dropper is a remotely triggered release mechanism fitted under a multirotor. It holds one or more payloads during flight and releases them on command from the pilot’s radio, so items can be delivered without landing.
Q: What is the FlySpark ZD6? A: The FlySpark ZD6 is a 6-channel drone payload dropper with six independently controlled release stations in a 230 × 94 × 48 mm body weighing approx. 300 g. It runs on a 7–28 V supply and is triggered over CRSF (Crossfire / ELRS serial).
Q: What control signal does the ZD6 use? A: The ZD6 uses CRSF, the serial protocol used by Crossfire and ExpressLRS (ELRS) radio systems. Release commands are mapped to switches or buttons on the pilot’s transmitter.
Q: What supply voltage does the ZD6 need? A: The ZD6 accepts 7–28 V, so it can be powered directly from the aircraft power rail on most FPV-class and custom-built multirotors without a separate regulator.
Q: Which drones is the ZD6 compatible with? A: It is intended for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors that carry a CRSF receiver. It is not a light-sensor version, so it is not meant for plug-free fitting on folding camera drones; for those, the LED versions of the single- and dual-channel ZD droppers are the better choice.
Q: Does the ZD6 work with a light sensor or PWM signal? A: The ZD6 is specified for CRSF control. If your aircraft only provides a PWM servo output or you need a light-sensor trigger, choose a ZD1 or ZD2 PWM or LED version, or ask FlySpark about an alternative configuration.
Q: What is the difference between ZD6-CRSF and ZD6-SQ? A: Both share the same six-channel CRSF dropper core, 230 × 94 × 48 mm size, approx. 300 g weight and 7–28 V supply. ZD6-CRSF is the standard strap / fixed-mount version; ZD6-SQ is the quick-release (SQ) version for fast swapping between aircraft.
Q: How are payloads held in the ZD6? A: Each station uses a curved cradle that conforms to the payload, lined with hook-and-loop pads, with retaining straps and a servo-driven latch. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload.
Q: How heavy a payload can the ZD6 carry? A: The practical limit depends on the aircraft’s spare lift, the payload shape and the station it sits in. FlySpark confirms fit and per-station load for your approved payload and airframe before supply.
Q: How is the ZD6 mounted on the drone? A: The ZD6-CRSF is strapped or fixed under the airframe, centred under the centre of gravity and clear of the propellers, landing gear and camera view. The ZD6-SQ uses a quick-release mount so the dropper can be moved between aircraft quickly.
Q: Can I release all six payloads at once? A: Each of the six channels is independent. Several channels can be mapped to switches you operate together, but the design intent is controlled, one-by-one release at separate points.
Q: What is the ZD6 used for? A: Search and rescue drops of radios, flotation aids and first-aid kits, utility pilot-line drops, marker and smoke signalling, sensor and beacon emplacement, inert training drops, agriculture, wildlife research and university projects.
Q: What is the lead time, and do you export? A: Lead time is confirmed with the quotation. FlySpark supplies across India and handles export enquiries subject to end-user verification, applicable export-control rules and documentation.
Q: Who can buy the ZD6? A: The ZD6 is supplied only to verified end users such as defence and government agencies, public-safety organisations, professional integrators, research institutions and licensed commercial operators.
Q: Can the ZD6 be used to carry weapons? A: The ZD6 is supplied as a general-purpose payload release system. Any integration of other authorised payloads is the sole responsibility of the end user and must comply with national law, procurement rules, airspace permissions and export controls.
Q: How does the ZD6 compare with the ZD4 and ZD8? A: The ZD4 has 4 channels in a 90 × 146 × 48 mm, approx. 120 g body on a 5 V supply. The ZD6 adds two more stations in a long 230 × 94 × 48 mm body with a 7–28 V input. The ZD8 has 8 channels in 225 × 130 × 48 mm at approx. 350 g, also on 7–28 V.
Q: How should I test the ZD6 before flight? A: Bench-test every channel with the dropper empty and the propellers removed, confirm each switch opens only its own station, then load inert test weights and repeat before carrying real payloads.
Q: Does FlySpark provide integration support? A: Yes. FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. helps with CRSF channel mapping, power wiring, mounting position, payload-fit checks and operator familiarisation.
Q: What warranty is included? A: Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year under approved use and normal operating conditions. Crash damage, overload, wrong wiring or voltage, and unauthorised modification are not covered.
