Intelligence Brief
FlySpark XD4-V2 Pin-Release 4-Position Drone Payload Dropper is a compact multi-drop release unit for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors. Four payloads hang from four pin-release positions in a single row, each held by a safety pin through its latch and released individually on command, so one sortie can place up to four separate drops. The bar housing measures 282 × 46 × 47 mm, weighs approximately 240 g and runs on 5 V with a PWM servo-signal trigger.

The XD4-V2 is part of the FlySpark UAV Payload Droppers & Release Systems range, supplied and supported in India by AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd., with export enquiries welcome. It is built for defence and government security agencies, public-safety teams and professional integrators who need a light, predictable, multi-position release on small and medium drones.
Pin-release retention keeps each payload positively locked until the moment of release: there is no spring push-off, so payloads drop cleanly and straight. Two versions share the same housing and electronics: the XD4-PWM-V2 standard version for a fixed under-body mount, and the XD4-SQ-V2 quick-release (SQ) version for operators who move one dropper between several airframes.

Four independent positions in a 46 mm-wide bar give more drops per flight without widening the aircraft’s frontal profile. Each position is released on its own command, so the pilot decides exactly where every payload goes instead of releasing a full load at once. At approximately 240 g the dropper leaves most of a 7–10 inch class quadcopter’s lift margin for the payloads themselves.

FlySpark offers both pin-release and curved-cradle droppers in 2- to 8-position layouts. Choose the XD4-V2 when you want pin-locked retention with four individually released positions in a slim bar; choose a ZD-series cradle dropper for compact square layouts or CRSF control.

The pilot assigns a switch or knob on the RC transmitter to a spare channel. The receiver or flight controller outputs a PWM servo signal on a standard 3-pin lead (signal, +5 V, ground) to the XD4-V2 controller. Each of the four positions has its own pin-release latch; when its command arrives, the pin is withdrawn and the clip lets that payload fall away while the other three stay locked. A light-sensor trigger, which reads the drone’s bottom auxiliary light through an optical sensor with no wiring to the aircraft, is also listed as a signal option and is confirmed with FlySpark at order.

The XD4-V2 is designed for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors with a PWM output, typically 7–10 inch class quadcopters and larger custom airframes. The flat top face is fixed under the frame with straps or screws and centred so the payloads hang clear of the propellers. The XD4-SQ-V2 fits a quick-release mount for fast installation and removal. Always keep total take-off weight within the airframe’s rating.

For defence and security units the XD4-V2 provides four individually placed support drops per sortie from a small multirotor, keeping personnel out of exposed ground during marking, resupply and sensor placement tasks.

For rescue services, utilities, agriculture and research teams the XD4-V2 turns an existing FPV-class or custom drone into a precise four-drop delivery tool.

IMPORTANT USE NOTE: The XD4-V2 is supplied only to verified end users. The buyer is responsible for using only lawful payloads, obtaining all airspace permissions and complying with export controls and local regulations. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload. Never fly over people, and bench-test every release position without payload before the first flight.
Q: What is a drone payload dropper? A: A drone payload dropper is a lightweight release unit fitted under a multirotor that holds one or more payloads in flight and lets them go on a command from the pilot. It turns a standard drone into an aerial delivery tool for rescue kits, markers, sensors and training items.
Q: What is the FlySpark XD4-V2? A: The FlySpark XD4-V2 is a pin-release, 4-position drone payload dropper for FPV-class and custom-built multirotors. It measures 282 × 46 × 47 mm, weighs approximately 240 g, runs on 5 V and accepts a PWM or light-sensor trigger signal.
Q: How does a pin-release dropper work? A: Each payload is held on its release clip by a safety pin inserted through the latch. On command, the actuator withdraws the pin for that position and the clip lets the payload fall away cleanly. There are no springs pushing the payload off, so release is gentle and predictable.
Q: How many payloads can the XD4-V2 carry? A: Four, one on each pin-release position arranged in a single row along the underside of the bar. Each position is released individually, so you can place up to four separate drops in one sortie.
Q: Can each of the four positions be released separately? A: Yes. The four positions are controlled independently, so one command releases one position. The channel-to-position mapping for your transmitter is set and verified by FlySpark before delivery.
Q: What voltage and signal does it need? A: It runs on 5 V and is triggered by a PWM servo signal from a flight controller or receiver. A light-sensor trigger is also listed as a signal option; confirm it with FlySpark when ordering.
Q: Which drones is the XD4-V2 compatible with? A: It is intended for FPV-class drones and custom-built multirotors that provide a PWM output, typically 7–10 inch class quadcopters and larger custom airframes with enough payload margin for the dropper plus four payloads.
Q: What is the difference between XD4-PWM-V2 and XD4-SQ-V2? A: Both share the same 282 × 46 × 47 mm, approximately 240 g pin-release housing, 5 V supply and PWM / light-sensor trigger. The XD4-PWM-V2 is the standard fixed-mount version; the XD4-SQ-V2 is the quick-release (SQ) version for fast fitting and removal between airframes.
Q: How is the XD4-V2 mounted on the drone? A: The flat top face is fixed under the aircraft frame with straps or screws, centred so the payloads hang clear of the propellers. The SQ version slides into a quick-release mount so it can be swapped between airframes in seconds.
Q: What payloads can it carry? A: Small rescue pouches, medical and first-aid packs, marker and smoke canisters, beacons, sensors, radio relays and inert training items that fit the clips. Payload fit is confirmed by FlySpark for the end user’s approved payload.
Q: What is the maximum payload weight? A: Usable payload depends on the clip fit and, above all, on the lift margin of your aircraft. FlySpark confirms the payload fit and recommended per-position weight for your approved payload and airframe at the quotation stage.
Q: Is the XD4-V2 suitable for search and rescue? A: Yes. Four independent positions let a single flight place rescue pouches, flotation aids, radios or medical packs at up to four separate points over hills, water or disaster sites.
Q: What is the XD4-V2 drone dropper price in India? A: Price is on request because each order is confirmed against the end user’s aircraft, trigger configuration and approved payload. Contact FlySpark on WhatsApp or email for a quotation in INR or for export.
Q: What is the lead time, and do you export? A: Lead time is confirmed with the quotation. FlySpark supplies across India and handles export enquiries subject to end-user documentation and applicable export-control rules.
Q: Who can buy the XD4-V2? A: It is supplied only to verified end users such as defence and government security agencies, public-safety organisations, professional integrators, research institutions and licensed commercial operators.
Q: Who is responsible for the payloads carried on the XD4-V2? A: The XD4-V2 is supplied as a general-purpose payload release device. Any integration of other payloads must be authorised, lawful under national law and procurement rules, and is the sole responsibility of the end user and licensed integrator.
Q: How does the XD4-V2 compare with other FlySpark droppers? A: It is the 4-position member of the pin-release family. The XD2-V2 offers the same pin retention in a 2-position, 130 × 42 × 46 mm unit, while the ZD-series droppers use curved cradles with 2, 4, 6 or 8 positions.
Q: Does FlySpark provide integration support? A: Yes. FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. supports trigger channel set-up, mounting advice, payload fit confirmation, operator familiarisation and after-sales service.
Q: What warranty is included? A: Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year under approved use and normal operating conditions. Damage from crashes, over-voltage, overload or unauthorised modification may not be covered.
