Intelligence Brief
The FlySpark SeaScout S8 is an 8.4m uncrewed surface vessel (USV): a reduced-signature, high-performance autonomous boat for maritime surveillance and mission-critical naval, coast guard and commercial operations. It reaches 55 knots, covers 650 nautical miles at a 25-knot cruise, stays on task for up to 30 days and carries up to 600kg of mission payload, so one platform can patrol coastlines, protect ports and offshore assets, survey the seabed or move supplies without putting a crew at risk.
The faceted composite hull keeps radar and visual signature low while giving a stable, fast deep-V ride. An inboard diesel engine with stern drive delivers long range on widely available fuel. With a 1.93m beam, 0.8m draft and 2,500kg maximum displacement, the SeaScout S8 works in open water and in shallow littoral zones, river mouths and harbours where larger patrol craft cannot go. It is part of the FlySpark Unmanned Ground & Surface Vehicles (UGV / USV) range and is configured, integrated and supported in India by FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. for domestic and export customers.

The SeaScout S8 is modular from the keel up. Payload bays are designed for rapid reconfiguration, so the same hull can switch from surveillance to survey, logistics or communications relay in minutes rather than days, even when forward deployed. Standard interfaces and robust mounting systems mean new sensors and mission modules can be added without structural redesign.

Typical mission modules include surveillance and ISR sensors, sonar survey kits, cargo and casualty-evacuation modules, communications relays and customer-defined C4ISR fits, all within the 600kg payload allowance and connected through standard mechanical, power and data interfaces.

Control is flexible: supervised autonomy handles route holding, collision avoidance and mission execution, while operators can take over with long-range remote piloting at any time. A human stays on the loop for oversight and accountability. Onboard processing fuses radar, EO/IR, AIS and sonar data for real-time awareness, and secure line-of-sight radio, SATCOM or mesh links (configuration dependent) push video and tracks to the shore control station and operations centres in near real time.

Open architecture lets the SeaScout S8 plug into existing command-and-control systems, communications networks and partner payloads. It can operate alone, as part of a task group with crewed vessels, or as a distributed fleet that adds coverage at sea without adding crew. Automated launch and recovery options support deployment from shore, trailers, piers and larger ships, and the craft is transportable by road, sea and air.

At a 25-knot cruise the SeaScout S8 covers 650 nautical miles (about 1,204km), roughly 26 hours of continuous transit. That reaches distant patrol stations, island outposts and offshore assets from a single home port, and on station the USV can loiter or patrol at low speed for up to 30 days, depending on payload, speed and sea state.

When a contact needs a closer look, the 55-knot (about 102km/h) top speed lets the boat dash to intercept or reposition, while the 600kg payload allowance is about a quarter of the 2,500kg maximum displacement.

The SeaScout S8 is the maritime member of the FlySpark unmanned vehicle family. On land, FlySpark tracked and wheeled UGV robot chassis cover inspection, logistics, security and research missions, so one supplier can support both shore and sea robotics programmes.
One hull covers defence and civilian maritime work: swap the payload modules and the same uncrewed surface vessel moves from harbour defence to hydrographic survey.

For navies, coast guards and maritime security forces, the SeaScout S8 extends surveillance and presence far beyond what crewed patrol boats can sustain, keeping personnel out of harm's way while feeding commanders a continuous maritime picture.

For port authorities, offshore energy, survey companies and research institutes, the SeaScout S8 is a long-endurance, fast, sensor-rich platform that cuts the cost and risk of crewed vessel time.

IMPORTANT USE NOTE: The SeaScout S8 is supplied to government, defence, law-enforcement and approved commercial operators for lawful maritime surveillance, security, survey, research and logistics. Defence configurations require end-user certification and applicable export and import approvals. Operate only in accordance with maritime law, COLREGs, port and coastal authority rules, and radio-frequency regulations, and keep a qualified operator on the loop at all times.
Q: What is an uncrewed surface vessel (USV)? A: An uncrewed surface vessel, also called an unmanned surface vehicle or USV, is a boat that operates on the water without a crew on board. It is controlled by onboard autonomy and a remote operator, so surveillance, patrol and survey work can be done without putting people at sea.
Q: Is "uncrewed" different from "unmanned"? A: No. Uncrewed surface vessel and unmanned surface vehicle describe the same type of craft; uncrewed is the term now preferred by many navies and coast guards.
Q: What is the FlySpark SeaScout S8? A: The FlySpark SeaScout S8 is an 8.4m uncrewed surface vessel (USV) — an unmanned boat with a reduced-signature composite hull, 55kt top speed, 650NM range at 25kt, up to 30 days mission endurance and a 600kg modular payload. It runs autonomously or under remote control for maritime surveillance, security, survey and logistics missions.
Q: How long can the SeaScout S8 stay at sea? A: Endurance is up to 30 days depending on mission profile, speed, payload and sea state, for example loitering or low-speed patrol on station versus high-speed transit.
Q: What engine and hull does it use? A: An inboard diesel engine with a stern drive, in a composite hull with a faceted, reduced-signature design. Diesel gives long range, wide fuel availability at ports and naval bases, and safer fuel handling than petrol.
Q: Is it fully autonomous? A: It supports several control modes: supervised autonomy with route holding and collision avoidance, waypoint missions, and long-range remote piloting. A human operator stays on the loop for oversight and accountability.
Q: What sensors can be fitted? A: EO/IR gimbal cameras, surface-search radar and sonar are available options, along with AIS receivers, RF sensors, communications relays and customer-specified C4ISR equipment.
Q: How is the SeaScout S8 controlled and connected? A: Operators work from a shore control station or a host ship over line-of-sight radio, SATCOM or mesh networking, depending on configuration. Onboard autonomy handles navigation and collision avoidance, while the operator supervises and can take over at any time.
Q: Can we integrate our own payloads and software? A: Yes. The SeaScout S8 has an open architecture with standard payload interfaces and open interfaces to autonomy software, so third-party sensors, radios and mission systems can be integrated without redesigning the hull.
Q: Does it connect to existing command and control systems? A: Yes. It is designed to interface with existing C2 systems, communications networks and partner payloads, and can share video and tracks with operations centres in near real time over secure links. One operator team can run a single craft or a distributed fleet.
Q: How is it launched and recovered? A: From shore slipways, trailers, piers or larger vessels, with automated launch and recovery systems available. It is transportable by road, sea and air without complex preparation.
Q: What is the SeaScout S8 used for? A: Coastal and maritime surveillance, port and harbour security, force protection, offshore infrastructure protection, anti-smuggling and EEZ patrol, search and rescue support, hydrographic and environmental survey, resupply and casualty evacuation in littoral areas, and counter-drone detection at sea.
Q: Who can buy the SeaScout S8? A: Navies, coast guards, marine police, border and customs agencies, port authorities, offshore energy operators, research institutions and approved commercial operators. Defence configurations require end-user certification and applicable export and import approvals.
Q: Can the SeaScout S8 be armed? A: FlySpark supplies the SeaScout S8 for surveillance, security, survey and logistics roles. Any weapon or effector integration is export-controlled and is the responsibility of the authorised government end user or integrator, under applicable national law and export regulations.
Q: What is the price of the SeaScout S8 USV in India? A: Price is on request because each vessel is configured to the customer’s sensors, communications, autonomy and support package. Contact FlySpark on WhatsApp or email for a quotation in INR or for export.
Q: Is the SeaScout S8 available in India and for export, and what is the lead time? A: Yes. FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. supplies Indian and approved export customers. Each vessel is built on order, and lead time depends on the configuration and approvals, so it is confirmed with the quotation.
Q: Does FlySpark provide training and support? A: Yes. FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. supports payload integration, sea trials, operator and maintainer training, spares planning and after-sales service.
Q: What warranty is included? A: Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year under approved use and normal operating conditions. Grounding, collision, operation beyond rated sea state, wrong fuel and unauthorized modification may not be covered.
