Intelligence Brief
FlySpark TK990 is a heavy-duty stair climbing tracked robot chassis: a compact, all-terrain UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) base for robots that need to work both inside buildings and outdoors. At approximately 990 × 620 × 335mm it fits through doors and corridors, yet it carries an 80kg rated payload, runs about 4 hours on its 48V 60Ah lithium battery, climbs 35° slopes and stairs, and rides on 12 sets of independent suspension shock absorbers for smooth, stable traction on uneven ground.

Two 48V 750W brushless DC motors drive 87mm-wide reinforced rubber tracks with an embedded Kevlar fibre tensile layer, and an industrial-grade 1000-line incremental photoelectric encoder on each side gives precise speed feedback for closed-loop control. Speed is adjustable from 0 to 9km/h, a motor brake holds the chassis on slopes, and track-differential steering lets it spin in place in tight spaces. It surmounts 180mm obstacles and fords 200mm of water. The carbon-steel hull is finished with baked electrostatic paint, sealed to IP54 as standard with an IP66 build available, and operates from -20°C to 60°C. The TK990 is part of the FlySpark Unmanned Ground & Surface Vehicles (UGV / USV) range, supplied and integrated in India for defence, security, industrial and research users, with export support on request.

The TK990 is designed as an open all-terrain robot platform rather than a closed vehicle. The main controller runs open-loop and PID closed-loop control and accepts commands from a host computer over Serial or standard CAN with a published communication protocol, while reporting linear and angular velocity back. That makes it straightforward to add your own autonomy computer, ROS navigation stack, lidar, depth cameras, GNSS, manipulators or mission payloads without reverse-engineering the drive system.

Payload power comes straight from the main pack through reserved 48V 10A, 24V 5A and 12V 5A outputs, so cameras, radios, computers and actuators can run without extra batteries. The standard 2.4GHz remote control gives forward, reverse, left, right and spin-in-place control with about 200m line-of-sight range, and replaceable long-range remote controllers, real-time HD 1080P video transmission, mesh self-organizing network control and 4G/5G remote control are available as upgrades.

FlySpark offers tracked and wheeled UGV robot chassis so buyers can match payload, terrain and size to the mission. The TK990 is the stair-capable middle of the tracked range: more payload, speed and fording than the TK650, in a narrower and lighter body than the TK1000.

Its compact size, stair-climbing ability and open Serial/CAN control make the TK990 a practical base for small military UGV and security robot programmes in India and abroad, where the robot must enter buildings, corridors and confined spaces ahead of personnel.
For industry, public safety and research, the TK990 provides a ready-made drive base that carries up to 80kg of sensors or tools for a 4-hour shift indoors or outdoors.

IMPORTANT USE NOTE: The TK990 is a mobile robot chassis for lawful industrial, security, research, rescue, education and logistics applications. Operate it only on sites where you have permission, keep people clear of the tracks during operation, respect the 80kg rated load and 200mm fording limit, test stair climbing with your actual payload before deployment, and follow local safety, RF and site regulations. Optional radio links must be used only on legally permitted frequencies and power levels.
Q: What is a tracked UGV? A: A tracked UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) is a remotely operated or autonomous robot vehicle that runs on continuous tracks instead of wheels. Tracks spread the load and grip loose or uneven ground, which lets a tracked robot climb stairs, cross obstacles and work off-road where wheeled robots struggle.
Q: What is the FlySpark TK990? A: The FlySpark TK990 is a compact, heavy-duty stair climbing tracked robot chassis with an 80kg rated payload, 4 hours endurance, 35° climbing and 12 sets of independent suspension. It is an open all-terrain robot platform for patrol, inspection, stair-climbing, transport and research robots.
Q: How long does the TK990 run on one charge, and how is it charged? A: Endurance is about 4 hours from the standard 48V 60Ah lithium battery, depending on payload, terrain, speed and temperature. The pack has overcharge and over-discharge protection and charges from the included AC 220V charger through an independent aviation plug.
Q: What is the top speed, and what motors drive the TK990? A: Speed is adjustable from 0 to 9km/h. Drive comes from two 48V 750W brushless DC motors, each with an industrial-grade 1000-line incremental photoelectric encoder for accurate speed feedback and smooth closed-loop control.
Q: Can the TK990 climb stairs? A: Yes. The chassis is rated for a 35° maximum climbing angle and is designed to climb stairs and surmount obstacles up to 180mm high. Stair geometry, surface grip and payload centre of gravity should be checked for each site before deployment.
Q: What terrain can the TK990 handle? A: It works indoors and outdoors on concrete, tiles, gravel, grass, sand, mud and broken ground. It clears 180mm obstacles, fords water up to 200mm deep and its 12 independent suspension units keep the tracks in contact with uneven surfaces.
Q: Is the TK990 waterproof, and what temperatures can it handle? A: The standard protection rating is IP54 (protected against dust and splashing water), and an IP66 sealed build can be configured on request for heavy rain, wash-down and dusty outdoor sites. The chassis operates from -20°C to 60°C.
Q: How is the TK990 controlled? A: It ships with a 2.4GHz remote control for forward, reverse, left, right and in-place spin turning, with about 200m line-of-sight range in open areas. Replaceable long-range remote controllers are available as an upgrade.
Q: Does the TK990 support ROS and custom autonomy software? A: Yes. The main controller supports open-loop and PID closed-loop control and accepts host-computer velocity commands over Serial or standard CAN with an open communication protocol. It reports linear and angular velocity back to the host, so a ROS navigation stack or your own autonomy software can drive it through a simple interface node.
Q: How do I integrate payloads on the TK990? A: Sensors, masts, manipulators and equipment cases mount on the flat steel top deck within the 80kg rated load, and draw power from the reserved 48V 10A, 24V 5A and 12V 5A outputs. FlySpark can prepare a mounting and wiring plan as part of the autonomy integration package.
Q: What is the TK990 used for? A: Stair-climbing robots, indoor and outdoor autonomous patrol robots, off-road robots, security and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) robot platforms, firefighting robots, cleaning, agricultural spraying, disinfection, target-carrier training platforms, scientific research and education.
Q: What is the price of the TK990 tracked UGV in India? A: Price is on request because each chassis is configured to the customer’s payload, control and protection requirements. Contact FlySpark on WhatsApp or email for a quotation in INR or for export.
Q: What is the lead time, and can FlySpark export the TK990? A: The TK990 is built to order, and the lead time is confirmed with the quotation for your configuration. FlySpark supplies customers across India and can support export orders subject to applicable export regulations and end-user documentation.
Q: Can the TK990 be armed? A: FlySpark supplies the TK990 as an unarmed robot chassis. Any weapon-related integration is only for lawfully authorised defence end users, is subject to export controls and end-user certification, and is the sole responsibility of the authorised integrator.
Q: How does the TK990 compare with the TK650 and TK1000? A: The TK650 is a lighter 30kg-payload tracked chassis for indoor and light outdoor work, while the TK1000 carries 100kg in a larger 1000 × 790 × 430mm IP65 body. The TK990 sits between them with 80kg payload, 0–9km/h speed and 200mm fording in a 620mm-wide chassis.
Q: Does FlySpark provide integration support? A: Yes. FlySpark / AnuShakti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. supports payload mounting, power and data integration, autonomy-stack interfacing, commissioning, operator training and after-sales service.
Q: What warranty is included? A: Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year under approved use and normal operating conditions. Damage from overload, immersion beyond the rated fording depth, impact, wrong charging or unauthorized modification may not be covered.
